Overview

This SOP provides troubleshooting steps for resolving Wi-Fi connection issues with Automower® robotic lawn mowers.

Purpose

To diagnose and fix Wi-Fi connectivity problems between Automower® mowers and the Automower® Connect app.

Scope

  • Applicable To: Field Service Team, Customer Support, End Users
  • Equipment: Automower® models with Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Issue: Wi-Fi connection failures or intermittent connectivity

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Verify Wi-Fi Network

    • Check Wi-Fi network is active and working
    • Test Wi-Fi connection with other devices
    • Verify network name (SSID) and password are correct
    • Check network is within range of mower
  2. Check Mower Wi-Fi Settings

    • Verify mower is configured with correct network credentials
    • Check mower is attempting to connect to Wi-Fi
    • Look for Wi-Fi indicator lights or status on mower
    • Review Wi-Fi settings in Automower® Connect app
  3. Check Signal Strength

    • Verify Wi-Fi signal is strong at mower location
    • Check for physical obstructions blocking signal
    • Test signal strength at charging station location
    • Consider Wi-Fi range extenders if signal is weak
  4. Reset Wi-Fi Connection

    • Disconnect mower from Wi-Fi network in app
    • Reset mower's Wi-Fi settings
    • Re-enter network credentials
    • Reconnect mower to Wi-Fi network
  5. Check Router Settings

    • Verify router supports 2.4 GHz band (most mowers require this)
    • Check router is not blocking device connections
    • Review firewall settings
    • Ensure router firmware is up to date
  6. Power Cycle

    • Restart the Wi-Fi router
    • Power cycle the mower
    • Wait for both to fully restart
    • Retry Wi-Fi connection
  7. Check for Interference

    • Identify other devices that might interfere
    • Move router or mower to reduce interference
    • Change Wi-Fi channel if possible
    • Test connection in different location
  8. Contact Support

    • If issues persist, contact Husqvarna dealer tech support
    • Document network setup and troubleshooting steps
    • Note router model and Wi-Fi specifications

Common Wi-Fi Issues

  • 5 GHz Networks: Most mowers only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi
  • Weak Signal: Mower too far from router or obstructions blocking signal
  • Incorrect Credentials: Wrong network name or password
  • Router Compatibility: Some router settings may not be compatible
  • Network Congestion: Too many devices on network
